At the very outset, I welcome you to the West Silchar College family, Barjatrapur, Cachar. West Silchar College is the first institution of higher education in the greater west Silchar area across up to Indo Bangladesh Border inhabited by SC, ST, OBC and backward minority people. On behalf of the college fraternity, I take the opportunity to owe my deep sense of gratitude and thanks to all the stakeholders who had made this possible and herewith us in those days of our initial journey towards a dream higher educational institution. I also like to thank all my respected guardians and well-wishers who have entrusted upon us the academic responsibility of their children since the nascent stage of the college and at the same time I must be grateful to the members of the Governing Body who have encouraged us to carry out this noble mission with their valuable suggestions from time to time.

West Silchar College since its inception in 1985 has already carved a niche for itself as it has been serving the needs of the underprivileged, downtrodden and weaker section of the society. With the passage of time, west Silchar College has nurtured a spirit of moving ahead and keeping abreast with the changing education scenario. Over the last few years, West Silchar College family have untiringly strived as a moving force to make the college a very special place for a student.

Dear lovers of education, in our college, what we do is, other than academies, we insist upon core moral values, discipline, time management, fair play, compassion, sense of tolerance, integrity and all-round personality development so that young students can transform themselves into good human beings.

West Silchar College in its own modest way is constantly on the job to create access of higher education to the maximum numbers of students on the one hand, and on the other, the college is trying to provide a platform to students for exploration and channelization of their immense potential, creativity and learning experiences in a holistic as well as student centric environment.

Before I conclude, I must appeal to my beloved students that as time and tide wait for none, you should be a good time manager so that you can complete with the rest and this end can be ended provided you make the best use of time.

Last but not the least, I seek your prayers and blessings so that the Almighty gives us strength and courage to transform our cherished dreams into reality in no time. I also welcome suggestions from all corners for all round progress and prosperity of our West Silchar College.
